Another easy day ahead – only 12.5km. Logrono was a wonderful little town. Lots to see and do and get immersed in the culture. Still haven’t quite worked out “Siesta” times yet. We ran into our Australian pilgrim friends we met in Larrasoana eight days before.
The walk out of town is through a big park which stretched for miles. There were lots of locals jogging and walking their dogs, even in the brisk morning air. It took a while to get out of town.
We circled a beautiful lake where anglers were catching trout – pretty decent ones too. We ran into one of the Camino’s characters – Marcelinis, I think was his name. He stamped our passports, we bought a banana and apple and were on our way again.
The town of Navarette was soon upon us, we found our accommodation and got ready for a look around and a relaxed afternoon in one of the cafes.
We met a lovely couple from California – Cathy and David, Little did we realise how much they would be part of our Camino experience in the days to come.
